Overview
This course equips participants with the knowledge and skills required to manage water resources using an integrated, multi-sectoral, and interdisciplinary approach. It explores global and South African water challenges, traditional and integrated water management approaches, and the principles of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM). The course places strong emphasis on climate change impacts on water resources and strategies to build resilience through adaptive planning, governance, and demand management. Participants will also examine water conservation, reuse, and stakeholder engagement, including gender perspectives, to support equitable, efficient, and sustainable water resource management across sectors. A quality-assured certificate from the University of the Witwatersrand is issued on successful completion.
