This course provides an applied introduction to predictive geometallurgy and its role in optimising mining operations. Participants explore how geometallurgical models and forecasting techniques can be used to anticipate processing behaviour, improve operational efficiency, and support data-driven decision-making across the mining value chain. The course covers core principles of predictive geometallurgy, modelling and forecasting methods, optimisation strategies, and real-world case studies. Emphasis is placed on developing, interpreting, and communicating predictive models that integrate geological, metallurgical, and operational data. On completion, participants will be able to apply predictive geometallurgical approaches to enhance mine planning and operational performance. A quality-assured certificate from the University of the Witwatersrand is issued on successful completion.
