Overview
The collection, flow, integrity and management of information along the value chain is an essential part of good MRM. This flow of information must allow managers to have "one version of the truth" and to be able to make business decisions quickly and appropriately. This module addresses changes in legislation, and aims to arm the MRM practitioner with the tools that are needed to conduct mining business in this new environment.

    The course content addresses the following topics:


    • This course covers the use and application of management information systems. Especially, this course will identify how management collects, uses and interprets information in order to add value and reduce risk.
    • Principles of integration, interpretation and reporting and consolidation will be covered.
    • The role of information systems in Mineral Resource Management will be covered.
    • This course provides the base knowledge of systems for the more detailed applications later in the course.
