Mine to Mill Optimisation and Control (MRM 8)

Overview

This course develops an integrated understanding of mine-to-mill optimisation and the mining value chain, from geological modelling and ore extraction through processing to the final product. Participants will explore ore-flow and metal accounting, geometallurgy, grade control, stockpiling, fragmentation, mineral processing, and mining process optimisation. The course also examines integrated information systems, digitalisation, enterprise optimisation, mine-to-market requirements, and ESG considerations. Participants will learn to identify sources of variability and value loss, understand downstream impacts, and apply integrated optimisation principles to improve operational performance, product outcomes, and value across mining operations. A quality-assured certificate from the University of the Witwatersrand is issued on successful completion.
