- Describing family, social events, and one's home
- Speaking on the phone
- Asking about and giving personal descriptions
- Reading and understanding notes, brochures, advertisements, and simplified texts
- Writing paragraphs on familiar topics, requests for information, and short personal messages (letter/email)
- A variety of grammar and vocabulary appropriate for the level
