Overview
This introductory course provides non-legal professionals with a clear and practical understanding of the South African legal system and core commercial law principles. Participants learn how law functions in South Africa, how contracts are formed, and how to interpret, draft, and evaluate agreements. The course covers key contract types, including sale, lease, insurance, consumer protection, and credit agreements, while demystifying legal terminology and enhancing practical problem-solving skills. Designed for individuals who interact with legal documents in the workplace, the course builds confidence in identifying legal issues, applying contractual requirements, and promoting ethical business practice. A quality-assured certificate from the University of the Witwatersrand is issued on successful completion.
