Overview
This course introduces students to the core principles of Human Resources Management and Labour Relations within the South African context. It explores strategic HRM, organisational structure, job design, recruitment, selection, employee development, and retention. Students also engage with labour relations theory, the role of trade unions, and the dynamics between employees, employers, and the state. By combining foundational theory with real-world application, the course equips participants with an essential understanding of how people management and labour relations contribute to organisational performance and competitiveness. A quality-assured certificate from the University of the Witwatersrand is issued on successful completion.
