The course content addresses the following topics:
- Themes: home, food, friends and family, school and work, hobbies, transport, travel
- Greetings and introductions
- Vocabulary: the classroom, numbers 1 to 100, prices, months and seasons, days of the week, rooms, furniture, basic colours, countries and nationalities, occupations and professions, family members
- Spelling and pronunciation of new vocabulary
- Introduction to telling time
- Listening: songs and short conversations
- Writing: email message, filling in a form
- Grammar: 'to be'; 'there is'/'there are'; wh- words to talk about yourself and ask questions about others; personal and possessive pronouns (except for possessive -s); adverbs of frequency to talk about your daily routine; common irregular verbs; 'can'/'can't' for permission and ability; simple questions; 'want', 'like', and 'would like'; commas, full stops, question marks, and capital letters; this, that, these, and those; present simple, past simple, and present continuous tenses
