Overview
This course provides a clear, non-mathematical introduction to modern Artificial Intelligence, enabling participants to understand and engage effectively with AI systems and teams. It covers key paradigms including machine learning, symbolic reasoning, planning, computer vision, robotics, and generative models. Participants will explore how AI systems learn, make decisions, and interact with the world while examining common limitations and risks. The course also addresses evaluation, ethics, and policy considerations, equipping students to apply AI concepts responsibly across a wide range of industries and contexts. A quality-assured certificate from the University of the Witwatersrand is issued on successful completion.

Format
4.5-hour face-to-face classes daily for 3 days, 2-hour assessment on Day 4
