- Definition of an executive report and its structure and sequence
- Writing the introduction: brief description of the aim(s) and purpose of the report, background, scope, research methodology, assumptions, limitations
- Writing findings: summarising main points of information from sources, providing supporting details from sources, organising information, citing and referencing sources of information, representing information visually
- Writing conclusions: making deductions and crafting conclusions based on findings
- Writing recommendations: crafting recommendations based on conclusions, specifying specific, measurable, achievable, results-oriented/realistic, time-bound (SMART) goals and writing to persuade
- Describing visual information
- Writing references and a glossary/terminology reference
- Editing, formatting, and proofreading a report
- Using AI in report writing
