Overview
English Fundamentals Part 2 aims to develop candidates' speaking, writing, listening, and reading skills further through a variety of texts. Grammar is also addressed at a pre-intermediate level on the Common European Framework Reference (CEFR) for languages.

    The course content addresses the following topics:

    • Reading: encyclopaedia entries, magazine articles, job advertisements, advice and blogs, website entries and advertisements, newspaper reports and editorials
    • Listening: conversations, podcasts, debates, radio interviews, monologues
    • Role playing (speaking): choosing a new team member, a job interview, participating in a meeting, problem solving, assessing a project, discussing different points of view and topics
    • Writing: the writing process, friendly letter, formal letter, two comparative paragraphs, a narrative essay on a personal experience
    • Grammar: transitional signals for introducing examples, showing contrast and introducing a conclusion, understanding and correctly applying a variety of grammatical structures at a higher pre-intermediate level
