This course equips students with essential academic English skills for success in university and professional contexts. Participants learn to plan, draft, and refine academic essays, apply correct referencing and citation conventions, and avoid plagiarism. The course enhances reading comprehension through strategies such as skimming, scanning, summarising, and synthesising information from multiple sources. Students also practise group discussions and presentations to build speaking confidence and fluency. By integrating academic literacy with ethical writing practices, this course helps students communicate clearly and effectively in academic and professional environments. Ideal for aspiring university students and professionals seeking language refinement. A quality-assured certificate from the University of the Witwatersrand is issued on successful completion.
