Overview
This one-of-a kind course in the SADC region provides Early Interventionists and related professionals with essential knowledge and skills to support infants and young children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (D/HH). Students explore child development from birth to three years, the nature and causes of hearing loss, its impact on children and families, and the principles of effective early intervention. The course also covers paediatric hearing assessments, communication and language approaches, and the assistive devices that help children access sound. Ideal for health professionals, early interventionists, teachers, and caregivers, this course builds the foundation needed to provide informed, compassionate, and evidence-based support. 30 CPD points will be awarded by Hi Hopes upon successful completion of the course. A quality-assured certificate from the University of the Witwatersrand is issued on successful completion.
