The School of Construction Economics at Wits University, in partnership with Wits Plus, runs a number of short courses that are credit bearing towards the Honours degree. Students who complete any of these courses will receive a fully accredited Wits Certificate of Competence for that course.
These courses are:
- Research and Professional Skills
- Construction Law
- Civil Engineering in Construction

A further three courses need to be completed in order to be awarded an Honours degree: Advanced Building Science, Simulated Project (CM) and Research Report
Successful completion of these courses do NOT guarantee acceptance into Honours.
