Overview
This in-depth short course is tailored for professionals in the mining sector seeking a comprehensive understanding of mineral reporting standards and compliance frameworks. Participants will explore the South African Code for Reporting of Exploration Results (SAMREC), Valuation Code (SAMVAL), and Oil & Gas Reserves (SAMOG) as well as the JSE Listing Rules. The course content includes ESG reporting, corporate governance, legislative compliance (MPRDA, Mining Charter), financial disclosures, risk management, and mine health and safety. On successful completion of the course, participants will be able to analyse policy requirements, apply SAMCODES, and evaluate ESG considerations in public reporting. Suitable for mine planners, managers, and advisers, applicants should hold an Honours in Mining Engineering or have completed 'Introduction to Mining Engineering'. A quality-assured certificate from the University of the Witwatersrand is issued on successful completion.
