Overview
Designed for BCom Accounting and Accounting Science graduates aiming to deepen their tax expertise, this course covers critical South African taxation topics. Students study capital gains tax, VAT, transfer duty, tax on trusts and individuals, and advanced subjects such as international taxation, tax avoidance, transfer pricing, and the tax implications of mergers and acquisitions. The course develops students' ability to evaluate tax impacts on financial decisions and provide strategic advice on tax minimisation and deferral. This course also supports preparation for the ACCA professional level exam and meets the needs of graduates not eligible for the Postgraduate Diploma in Specialised Accountancy. A quality-assured certificate from the University of the Witwatersrand is issued on successful completion.
