Overview
Designed for early to mid-career mining practitioners, this course combines mineral resource management with focused mine planning and project control training. Students complete eight compulsory courses alongside two elective modules chosen from advanced mine planning, MRM systems, legal requirements, or optimisation techniques. The course culminates in a 100% research report assessment, encouraging investigation of practical challenges within mine planning and resource management. Students develop critical skills in applying theory to workplace challenges, conducting research, collaborating with diverse teams, and presenting professional findings and recommendations. Entry requirements include a National Senior Certificate (NQF 4) or equivalent and a minimum of two years' work experience in the mining industry. A quality-assured certificate from the University of the Witwatersrand is issued on successful completion.
